September has always been one of my favourite months. I love when the seasons start to change, the colours start to turn… when you can still enjoy warm days but much cooler nights….
I also celebrate my birthday! This year is quite a significant birthday, not in terms of numbers, but in terms of what I am doing. I started Kensington English last year as an activité accessoire in addition to my position at a local Early Years Foundation Stage setting. This year, I am going solo. Although I will dearly miss working in EYFS, I am really looking forward to this next chapter filled with new classes and activities and seeing what being an entrepreneur can bring.
The title of Let’s make September count has a double meaning for me this time. Sadly, a friend’s little boy has been diagnosed with a degenerative disease called Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. We still know so little about this incredibly rare disorder and there is no known cure, only treatment to alleviate suffering and physiotherapy to prolong the motor and respiratory function. To help support their new foundation in raising awareness and funding research, I have pledged to donate all new registration fees from today’s Back to School Fair at All Saints Church, Vevey. #togetherwearestronger
So voilà. I fully intend to make September count. Please comment and share what you plan to do to make your month count!
